October’s Theme: Guru
Submission Deadline: October 15, 2016
The meaning of the word “guru” is spiritual teacher, especially one who initiates one into his or her path. But what does the word GURU actually mean in today’s world and how we can learn from our teachers while also developing our own inner guidance system? Recently, I watched “I am Not Your Guru” on Netflix – a documentary about the world-renowned personal development coach Tony Robbins. This doc was fascinating and it got me thinking about the word GURU. What does the word guru mean to you? Do you have a positive response to the word? Or negative one? Or another direction to explore would be the Indian festival Guru Purnima, which gives thanks and celebrates teachers.
